Quite often we get asked some questions about the use of All Clad Cookware so we decided to put together this list of the most frequently asked questions. We understand people’s concerns, these pans aren’t cheap and we want to keep them looking and working great for as long as possible.
1. Can I put All Clad in the dishwasher?
Depending on what set you have the answer varies. Most All Clad cookware is dishwasher safe however if you own the LTD, MC2 or Cop-R-Chef you must hand wash them only if you want them to stay looking great. The copper core ranges are dishwasher safe but may result in some tarnishing. Our advice is to hand wash your pans to keep them looking great for longer no matter what set you own.
2. How do I clean my All Clad?
There is no secret method or special technique. For typical daily use just use warm soapy water as you would for anything else. Make sure they are cleaned thoroughly though as any food left on the pans may result in discolouration.
If you do end up with some discolouration or burnt spots then not all is lost. All Clad sell a special cleaning product that will remove stains and discolouration. You can find it here. You may also wish to invest in the All Clad Cleaner if you live in an area where the water has high iron content. This can cause a rusty looking discolouration – easily removed with the cleaner.
With the Cop-R-Chef cookware you can use any brass or copper cleaner.
3. Can I put All Clad in the oven?
Yes! All All Clad cookware is oven safe up to 500 degrees F. Some are rated at 600 degrees but please check first before you go above 500. Please note that the non stick items are not broiler safe but are oven safe. All other pieces are broiler safe.
4. Can I use All Clad with induction cooktops?
The stainless steel range were specifically designed to be used on any cooktop including induction. Always check before you buy your cookware if you are planning on using it with induction technology like the Nuwave Pic2.
5. Do the handles get hot?
The long stainless steel handles on All Clad pans do not conduct heat well and therefore stay quite cool when in normal use. They will however get hot if you leave them directly over the heat or put the pans in the oven.
6. How do I cook with my All Clad pans?
This is a strange one but it gets asked more than you think. You can of course use the pans in the same way you would any other cookware set. If you want to get really specific you should pre-heat the pan and then add a thin layer of cold oil to cook in and prevent sticking.
Conclusion

If you have any other questions then leave them in the comments below and we will do our best to answer them. I have an All-Clad multi cooker I put the aluminum insert in the dishwasher I didn’t realize I wasn’t supposed to I’ve only done it once will it be alright to keep using it?
It should be absolutely fine. It’s just not something you would want to do repeatedly as it may end up scratching or tarnishing the insert.
After searing the meat in a cast iron pan, I have an All Clad two burner griddle, which I would like to use to finish baking four herb-crusted racks of lamb in the oven (425 degrees) for 25 minutes. Is it safe for the pan?
I wouldn’t use that in the oven above 400 degrees.
Is all clad good for Indian cooking?
All Clad are great for all kinds of cooking. I think you will be really happy if you choose to get all clad pans. They are superb. 🙂
I have an all clad 4 qt crockpot, do I need a liner to cook with it. I’m sorry I didn’t get a larger one. This is very small. I discarded the box, but there was no information within the box or pot. Where can I find information?
Also, did I read the info correctly about being able to put the non-stick pot into the oven also? I know that I read all clad pans can be put in, with the silver handle.
Can I fill my slow cooker to the top instead of 3/4. I am making vegetable spaghetti sauce.
Should I remove some sauce – 12/17.
I would remove some unless you are hanging around the kitchen to keep an eye on it. It’s likely to start running over the top if you filled it to the brim.
Can I use an all clad 12 inch glass lid, durable tempered glass, on my cast iron skillet?
